Mission Statement

Taffy’s Touch provides loving homes and quality care to senior dogs. We strive to ensure that every dog in our care can live out their golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and companionship.

Our Purpose

We are a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to finding new homes for dogs whose guardians can no longer care for them due to illness, death, or other challenging circumstances such as relocation to a long term care facility, and to finding “forever” foster homes for senior dogs in animal shelters.

Why we need YOU

Taffy’s Touch cannot exist without your help. These senior dogs need your love and comfort. Anything from fostering to donating to simply sharing our posts and getting these dogs seen will make a huge impact on their lives. What better feeling is there than knowing you’ve given an old dog his best life when he needed it most? ❤️

Our Story

Taffy was a 14 year old, blind Pomeranian that had been dropped off at a local shelter by her owners simply due to her age and disability. She was pulled by a rescue organization and placed in a foster home shortly after. Taffy made such an impact on her foster family that when she passed a few months later, it was determined that a foster based rescue specifically for senior dogs needed to be developed. Her sweet spirit is one found in many of our senior 4 legged friends and since Taffy, our goal is to make sure these gentle souls have a nice, loving home to sleep in rather than being left in a shelter. Often, those that we rescue end up rescuing us ❤️

Nikki is a lifelong animal lover with a special heart for seniors. Her career and experience has been in the medical field with elderly people, and she now focuses on helping elderly fur babies any chance she gets.

Lynsey is a strong advocate for senior pups in need. She is a wonderful asset that has helped us change many lives over the years and we’re so thankful for her immense compassion for the dogs we help.

Elizabeth is a lifelong dog owner and lover of all animals. She’s a tremendous advocate for the homeless and abused pups and she spends countless hours helping anywhere she can.
